Frequently asked questions

How do I open and close the shelf?

Move the pointer to the notch for a quick preview. Click to fully open the shelf. Click the notch again or press Escape to close it. Use the lock control only when you temporarily want the shelf to stay open.

How do I copy something back?

Open Pinland and click a Pin. Its text, image, or file is placed back on the clipboard, ready to paste.

How does search work?

Open the shelf, click the search icon, and type a keyword. Pinland matches against the text and file information stored with your Pins.

How do I delete Pins?

Remove one Pin with its close control. To remove everything, click the trash icon and confirm the clear action.

Why does Copy Selection and Pin need Accessibility?

macOS requires Accessibility permission for Pinland to request selected content from another active app. The permission is used only when you invoke Copy Selection and Pin. Clipboard Pin and drag-and-drop do not need it.

Where is my content stored?

On your Mac only. Pinland has no account, sync service, analytics, or upload path.

A shortcut is not working. What should I check?

Make sure another app is not using the same shortcut. For Copy Selection and Pin, also check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and confirm Pinland is enabled.
